Ahok Freed on Thursday, Police: No Special Security

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police will not deploy a special security measure when former Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (BTP) or Ahok is released on Thursday, January 24.
“As usual. No special security,” said Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono via a short message Tuesday, January 22.

Argo explained that the police did not receive any notice letter regarding the public activity to greet Ahok, who requested to be addressed as BTP, in Mako Brimob Prison, Depok. “No information about it,” Argo said.
Ahok earlier wrote a handwritten letter asking his supporters known as Ahokers not to greet him once he steps out of prison next Thursday. The letter was first posted through his Instagram account @basukibtp on January 17 .
