TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - During an arrest, the Metro Jaya Police were forced to shoot one of three suspects involved in a minimarket robbery syndicate after attempting to flee and resisting arrest on Monday at Jatiasih, Bekasi City.

Metro Jaya Spokesman Grand Commissioner Argo Yuwono said that the wounded suspect Trisno is currently being treated at the RS Polri Kramat Jati hospital; “The suspect is now at the RS Polri Kramat Jati.”

According to Argo, Trisno worked alongside Belong and Bintang as the syndicate’s captain. He is known to map-out the locations of the minimarkets that the group plans to ransack. This particular syndicate would usually target either Alfamart or Indomaret and operate from 10:00 – 13:00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) and execute their crime past midnight.

The suspects would often go for the minimarket`s safe-deposit box and break into it using simple tools such as pliers and crowbars. Other than robbing the money, this syndicate is known to rob cigarettes and is now charged with 7-years of imprisonment.
