TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Through his Instagram account, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said that the annual economic losses caused by traffic jams across the Greater Jakarta Region are predicted to cost the government up to Rp65 trillion.

“Rp65 trillion, not Rp80 million, that is the economic losses caused by traffic jams in the Greater Jakarta Region,” said Ridwan Kamil in his Instagram post today.

This issue first arose in the in a limited-meeting at the State Palace, that was attended by Ridwan Kamil and President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo among others. In opening the meeting, Jokowi complained about the traffic jams that have kept on growing and eventual economic losses that cost the nation so dearly.
