Police Capture 41 of 113 Escaped Inmates from Aceh Prison

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Banda Aceh City Police have re-arrested 41 of the 113 inmates who broke out from Lambaro Prison in Aceh Besar. One of the inmates died.
Meanwhile, the escaped prisoners who were recaptured had been put back in their cells in Lambaro Prison.
"To date, we have recaptured 41 inmates, one of whom died in North Sumatera," Police chief, Sr. Comr. Trisno Riyanto saidn Banda Aceh, Wednesday, January 2.
Trisno Riyanto said the prisoner who died was Hamdani bin Rusli (43). Temporary investigative results lead to the police suspecting he died from mob-lynching.
Hamdani was sent to prison for murdering his wife in 2017. The court gave him a death sentence in April 2018.
On November 29, 113 prisoners broke out from the prison, escaping through the front windows and the back gates.
