Jokowi Camp Targets to Clinch 60 Percent of Vote in Aceh

TEMPO.CO, Banda Aceh - The Jokowi-Ma’ruf National Campaign Team (TKN) is targeting a victory of 60 percent in next year’s presidential race in Aceh province.
The target is an increase from the 2014 presidential election in the province, when Jokowi clinched 40 percent of the vote.
“President Jokowi has been paying attention to Aceh,” TKN chief Abdul Kadir Karding said during the Jokowi camp’s regional work and consolidation meeting in Banda Aceh on Friday, December 14, 2018.
Abdul said the president’s attention was evident in the disbursement of over Rp91 trillion of funds from the state budget (APBN) to finance multiple strategic programs in Aceh—some of the programs have been completed while the others are still ongoing.
The meeting was participated by hundreds of volunteers, officials and legislative candidates from the Jokowi-Ma’ruf ticket’s supporting parties.
