Tanah Abang Skybridge Complete; Anies, KAI will Meet Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said his office and state railway company Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) would meet today, November 30, since the construction project of Tanah Abang Skybridge is complete.
“To monitor which part is still under progress,” said Anies Baswedan Thursday, November 29, in the Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) building.
Anies Baswedan opined, PT Sarana Jaya as the company in charge of the project, had constructed the multi-function bridge. However, its operation is pending on the permit of KAI to open the access from Tanah Abang Station to Tanah Abang Skybridge.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Ombudsman head Teguh Nugroho said his side would inspect the sky-bridge project today, November 30. “To ensure that the sky-bridge is ready to be used,” said Teguh.
Other than Jakarta Ombudsman, representatives from Jakarta administration, KAI, and mayor of Central Jakarta will join the inspection at 9:30 a.m local times.
Teguh mentioned he had received a report that Sarana Jaya had fulfilled all requirements set by KAI, such as the construction of facilities including toilet and prayer room as well as pedestrian management in the bridge.
The sky-bridge connects Tanah Abang Station and Tanah Abang Market, particularly Block G in which lack of visitors. The bridge, which started its construction on August 3, is designed to accommodate 446 street vendors. The city administration earmarked Rp35.8 billion for the project.
