TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (AP2) announced that Singapore Airlines (SIA) is preparing to migrate its operations from Soekarno Hatta International Airport (CGK) Terminal 2 to Terminal 3.
If everything goes as planned, the airline will start operating from Terminal 3 on November 28, the airport’s executive general manager M Suriawan Wakan said on Tuesday, November 13.
Suriawan reminds customers to periodically check their tickets for gates and terminals throughout the migrating period.
He added that AP2 supports this migration, especially considering CGK now ranks second among top international mega hubs in the Asia Pacific region (Megahubs Internasional Index 2018 OAG), just four points behind Changi Airport’s 253 connectivity index score.
CGK’s senior manager of branch communication and legal officer Febri Toga Simatupang hopes the transfers of international airlines to Terminal 3 would improve services and expand flight networks throughout the world.
"Good collaboration with airlines reflects our commitment to 'bring the world to Indonesia' through various flight connections that provide convenience and comfort for passengers,” he said.
AP2 has been transferring the operations of international airlines from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 since 2017. Airlines that operate from Terminal 3 today include Korean Air, China Airlines, AirAsia International, Malaysia Airlines, and the international flights of Indonesia’s own flagship Garuda Indonesia Airlines and its subsidiary Citilink, among others.
