Asian Games: Weightlifter Eko Yuli Adds Indonesia`s Gold Medal

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia adds its gold medal collection in the 2018 Asian Games from the weightlifting class after Eko Yuli Irawan defeated other athletes in the men’s 62-kilogram class at the JIExpo venue today, August 21.
Overall, Eko successfully lifted a total of 311 kilograms from the two lifts contested in the Asian Games, snatch (141 kg) and clean and jerk (170 kg). Eko managed to top Vietnamese weightlifter Trinh van Vinh who lifted a total of 299 kg, and Ergashev Edkhamjon form Uzbekistan that scored a total lift of 298 kilograms.

The gold medal provided by Eko’s win adds Indonesia’s gold medal to a total of five. The other four were won by Defia Rosmaniar (taekwondo), Lindswell Kwok (wushu), and Tiara Andini Prastika and Khoiful Mukhib (downhill cycling).
In the overall score chart, Indonesia still ranks fourth after China, Japan, and South Korea. The following is the current top five countries in the 2018 Asian Games on Tuesday, August 21, at 15:40 Jakarta time.
