TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Selayar Police have secured the owner of KM Lestari Maju, Hendra Yuwono, to undergo a questioning in relation to the ship leakage in the waters of Selayar Islands on Tuesday, July 3.
“For the investigation, we secured the ship owner at the Selayar Police Station,” Selayar Police Chief Adj. Sr. Commr. Syamsu Ridwan told Tempo on Thursday, July 5. The incident caused dozens of passengers died.

According to Syamsu, investigators have conducted an examination and questioned seven crews. Among them are ship captain Agus Susanto, Ensign Gunawan, deck officers Goloyono, Rusdiamsah, Muhammad Irfan Nashuka, and machinists Gabriel D. Jogas and Said Imam Mada Ali.
Currently, Syamsu said, forensic laboratory investigators with the National Police Headquarters, the South Sulawesi Police and the KNKT are also in at scene to conduct an investigation.
“Police investigators are also waiting for the results of the ongoing initial inspection conducted by the harbormaster,” he said.
