The police had put Constantinus on its most wanted list. He fled after raping a young French woman in Labuan Bajo on June 12, when acting as a tourist guide, taking her to the Cunca Wulang Waterfall by a motorcycle.
The East Nusa Tenggara Province's head of Tourism Office, Marius Ardu Jelamu, condemned the crime. Not only that it was an evil thing to do, he said the offense would taint Labuan Bajo's image as one of the top 10 national travel destinations.
Marius asked the West Manggarai government to ensure that the victim was given the best treatment.
