TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Xiaomi just released Redmi 5 Plus and Redmi 5 in Indonesia, Wednesday, February 14. These Xiaomi phones can be two of your options for the Chinese New Year (Imlek) gifts. Previously, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has released Redmi 5A and Note 5A.
Here are the details about the gadgets that are suitable for Chinese New Year 2018 gifts:
1. Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus
Redmi 5 Plus carries a concept of a full-screen ratio of 18:9 with a 5.99-inch screen size, embedded with FHD+ technology.
It has two variants, Rp2.199 million for 3 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of internal memory, and Rp2.699 million for 4 gigabytes memory and 64 gigabytes of internal memory. It has three color variants, namely gold, blue, and black.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus uses the MIUI 9 user interface with the Nougat Android operating system. It uses a 14-nanometer octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 and 4000 mAh battery that can last up to 31 days.
The rear camera has a resolution of 12 megapixels and a large sensor of 1.25 micrometer-pixels, which is higher than the iPhone 8 camera with only 1.20-micrometer pixels.
2. Xiaomi Redmi 5
Redmi 5 carries a concept of a full-screen ratio of 18: 9 with 5.7-inch screen size and embedded with FHD+ technology. It has 3300 mAh battery power that can be used up to 22 hours non-stop.
Coinciding with Valentine's Day, on February 14, it is released in two variants; the first with 2 gigabytes of RAM and 16 gigabytes of internal memory at Rp1.699 million and 3 gigabytes of RAM with 32 gigabytes of internal memory at Rp1.899 million.
It has 14-nanometer octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 and uses the MIUI 9 user-interface with the Nougat Android operating system.
The rear camera comes with a 12 megapixels resolution with a large sensor measuring 1.25-micrometer pixels. The front camera with a resolution of 5 megapixels with a f/2.2 diaphragm, making it fit for a selfie.
3. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A
Sold at Rp1.499 million, Redmi Note 5A has a 5.5-inch screen and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It uses MIUI 8.5 with an Android-based Nougat system.
The gadget supports for split screen feature or dual screen. Xiaomi also installed MiDrop as one of the default applications to share files between MIUI devices, such as Airdrop on Apple devices.
The camera is configured with 13 megapixels for the rear and 5 megapixels in the front. It is supported with Snapdragon 425 and 2 gigabytes of RAM and 16 gigabytes of internal memory and expandable memory slot up to 256 gigabytes. It has 3080 mAh battery and takes about 2 hours to charge from low bat conditions to full 100 percent.
4. Xiaomi Redmi 5A
This smartphone has the Android operating system 7.1.2 Nougat with a capacity of 3000 mAh battery. It uses a 13-megapixel PDAF main camera plus a 5-megapixel front camera. The chipsets installed in this device are quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 which makes AnTuTu Benchmark reaches 36903.
However, in Indonesia, it only has one variant, only 2 gigabytes of RAM with 16 gigabytes of internal memory capacity.
5. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5
The last is Redmi Note 5 which is likely to appear in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona on February 26 to March 1. It is estimated to be designed using aluminum with 5.99-inch screen size and a ratio of 18: 9.
The Redmi Note 5 will be released with the Nougat Android operating system and chipset from Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 with the speed up to 1.8 GHz. It has a dual rear camera with 12 megapixels quality and 5 megapixels for the front camera.
Xiaomi releases three variants for this Redmi Note 5; the first is supported with 64 gigabytes of internal memory, 4/6 gigabytes of RAM, and 32 gigabytes of internal memory with 3 gigabytes of RAM which is expandable with microSD up to 256 gigabytes. It also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
