TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti announced that her Ministry has canceled the auction of three confiscated Vietnamese-flagged fishing vessels.
The cancellation is a result of her protest against the verdict issued by the Batam District Court that settled to auction the captured illegal fishing boats.

Susi protested against the auctioning since it opposes the spirit of illegal fishing eradication in Indonesia. She stands firmly with her decision to drown the vessels.
As previously reported, the Batam District Court scheduled an auction of three Vietnamese vessels that were caught for poaching fishes in Indonesian waters. The three boats, KNF 7444, KM SLFA 5066, and KNF 7858, were about to be auctioned for a minimum price of Rp31.8 million.
“[The auction of the three Vietnamese vessels] has been canceled. Therefore, I thank you,” said Susi today.
