TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of Public Relation Division Insp. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar stated that the Police have arrested three alleged terrorists based investigation on a recent arrest. The three arrested individuals are members of the Muhammad Nur Solikhin terrorist group, a terrorist suspect recently arrested in Bekasi.
Boy added that the suspects are also affiliated with the Bahrun Naim group, the mastermind of the Sarinah bombing that took place on January 14, 2016. "This series of arrests are facts of the [presence] of the Bahrun Naim terrorist cell," Boy said on Thursday, December 15, 2016.
The three terrorist suspects are, Imam Syafii (33), Sumarno (44), and Sunarto (30). Three of them have been involved in a number of terror acts, including the terror attack at Alfamart in Surakarta (November 5, 2016) and the bombing Candi Resto bombing in Solo Baru (December 3, 2016). The suspects are allegedly members of the Jemaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) group based in Syria.
The three alleged terrorists, according to Boy, were successfully arrested after conducting an investigation on Wawan Prasetyawan, also known as Abu Umar bin Sakiman. Following the investigation, it was discovered that Wawan is an alleged member of ISIS.
