TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two international drug dealers, who get their meth supplies from China, have been arrested Friday by Medan Police’s Drug Investigation Unit personnel. The suspects were identified with the initials S, 22, and RS, 21.
Medan Police’s Drug Investigation Unit Comr. Boy Sotumorang said the two international drug dealers were nabbed for the possession of 9kg of crystal meth. Situmorang said they had previously received 15kg of crystal meth from Aceh's drug dealer.
“Of the 15 kilograms, 6 kilograms had already been sold in Medan,” Situmorang told Tempo on Monday, November 7, 2016.
Medan Police chief Sr. Comr. Mardiaz Kusin Dwihananto added that 9kg of crystal meth were found in two messenger bags in one of the suspects’ homes in Medan.
The two suspects are part of an international drug ring, Mardiaz said. “Based on Satreskoba [Drug Investigation Unit] investigation, the crystal meth came from China, supplied to Malaysia and sent to Aceh before entering Medan,” Mardiaz said.
To bypass authorities, the drug ring members supplied the crystal meth through illegal ports. They wrapped the crystal meth with plastic wrap to avoid suspicion. “We will develop the case based on the suspects’ confession,”
