Bandung Online Clothing Store Qualifies for World Cup Startup

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A startup online clothing store in Bandung just passed the Startup World Cup Indonesia 2016 selection phase. Initiated in January 2016 with three administrators, its business connects buyers and sellers with moslem clothing commodity to be exported.
“Its exported to the US, Russia, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Australia,” azzamtrade.com manager Dayang Melati said.
The qualified sites are conveyed by the committee at the end of Roadshow Startup World Cup Indonesia event in the Business School and Management Auditorium ITB Bandung on Tuesday, July 26.
The online store managed by Dayang mainly functions as a moslem clothing export transaction liaison. They display samples and moslem clothing models starting from veils to men’s and women’s clothing, including special swim suits.
In order for it to be trustworthy, it established a partnership with a number of people as business representatives in their country.
Dayang is one of the participants to have qualified and will be filtered again with other startup administrators from various cities in Indonesia, including Balikpapan and its surroundings, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Makassar, as well as Jakarta. The final round and the announcement for selected startups is scheduled to take place in Jakarta on August 23.
Director for Non-Banking Access of Economic Creative Agency Sugeng Santoso says the portion of Indonesian representatives in the Startup World Cup 2017 totals one or two startup companies. “Startups with ideas for global scale solution with information technology is what they seek,” Sugeng told Tempo.
The committee will include several startups to participate in the conference. The proposal for the event has been open since July 21.
Startup World Cup 2017 is organized at Fenox Venture Capital (Fenox VC). The venture capital firm from Silicon Valley, US, created the competition to seek rookie entrepreneurs with the best ideas and solutions from 11 countries and regions, including Indonesia, Japan, Israel, China, Czech, Chile, India, Australia, Taiwan, Silicon Valley, and eastern part of United States.
Its main prize is $1 million or approximately Rp 14 billion. The final judging will take place in Silicon Valley on March 24, 2017.
