TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf Kalla will be in Mongolia to attend the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). The conference will be held in Ulaanbaatar on July 15 and 16, 2016.
"Kalla and the second lady will fly to Mongolia on Thursday from the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, on board the BBJ-2 presidential jet," the vice president's spokesman Husain Abdullah said in a press release Wednesday, July 13, 2016.
The Vice President will be accompanied by a number of state officials, including the Deputy Foreign Minister A.M. Fachir.
On Friday morning, July 15, Kalla and his delegates will attend the meeting's opening ceremony at the Shangri La Hotel in Ulaanbaatar.
Kalla is scheduled to deliver a three-minute speech and have bilateral meetings with several head of states and prime ministers, including The president of the Cyprus Republic, the prime minister of the Estonian Republic, and the President of Myanmar.
The Asia-Europe Meeting is established as a forum to hold dialogues about issues concerning the countries in Europe and Asia. The forum allows country leaders to discuss about unlimited issues, but for the past two decades the dialogues have been focused on economic, political, defense strategies, education, culture, and environmental aspects.
