President Jokowi Opens Bali Arts Festival

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo on Saturday opened the Bali Arts Festival (PKB) at the Bajra Sandhi Monument in Denpasar.

The opening ceremony was marked by a cultural parade.

"I am pleased I can be here this afternoon in Bali. This even has been eagerly anticipated  by the people and foreign tourists," said Jokowi in his speech when opening the arts festival.

According to Jokowi, the event is more than just as a medium of education but can also move Bali’s economy.

On that occasion, President Jokowi was accompanied by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, Education and Culture Minister, Anies Baswedan, and Touristm Minister.

In the meantime, Bali Governor Made Pastika also also attended the event said the parade would feature dances and art performances from various regions in Bali.
