3,226 Regional Laws to be De-Regulated This Year, Minister Says

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - One of the government’s efforts to boost investment is by cutting regulations that hamper investment. Therefore, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo has instructed Home Affairs Ministry to evaluate dozens of troubled regional laws.
Home Affairs Ministry has set target that the move to de-regulate relations at the central government level can be completed this year.
Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo said that de-regulations of regulations are expected to be completed this year. So far, the said, the Ministry has annulled 270 regulations.
"Our target is that the de-regulation of 3,226 regional laws that are against the Constitution can be completed this June,” Tjahjo said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
