Airport Custom Found Synthetic Marijuana Smuggled from China

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Customs officers of Soekarno-Hatta Airport has managed to intercept the smuggling of 19.6 kilograms of synthetic cannabinoid (marijuana). "The drug is a smuggle commodity in the past 3.5 months,"said Director General of customs, Heru Pambudi.
Heru said that the drug was intercepted in the airport's post office. The synthetic marijuana was about to be distributed in some universities in Jakarta.
The emergence of synthetic drug has revealed a dark story that drug addicts in Indonesia are increasing in number. "Sixty percent of our catch at the end of this year is this synthetic weed," said Heru.
Heru added that the drugs have been globally acknowledged as lethal. However, it has not been listed in Law No. 35/2009 on Narcotics.
