TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Thick haze from forest fires that hit parts of North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan, that had cleared two days ago, is back on Monday, September 28. Visibility in the area is only 50 meters.
"The haze is getting thicker with morning dew severley limiting visibility and breathing difficult,” said one resident of Muara Teweh, North Barito, Yaser, on Monday.
Beringin Meteorological Station Head of Technical Group Sunardi said surface visibility on Monday morning at 8:15 am was only about 50-70 meters, while the vertical visibility was 150 feet.
Head of North Barito Education Office Elpi Epanop said they are closing schools because of the thick haze.
