TEMPO.CO, Bandung - About 1,500 students in Bandung, West Java, who allegedly forged their relief letters (SKTM) retracted their applications to public schools following police investigation into the case.
“Almost 1,500 [students] voluntarily retracted their applications today. Police had conducted investigation [into the case] on Wednesday, and Thursday,” Bandung Mayor Ridwan “Emil” Kamil said on Saturday, July 4, 2015.
Emil explained that those students who applied via non-academic channel withdrew their applications since they were afraid of dealing with the law enforcers. Emil said that more students with fake relief letters would cancel their registration.
As a result, the quota for students who apply via academic channel will increase, and the registration period has been extended.
“The registration via academic channel will be extended, and the passing grade will be lowered. Therefore, the spots via academic channel will increase,” Emil explained.
