TEMPO.CO, San Francisco - Google announced its very own payment method Android Pay at Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco, United States. The payment method is connected to the user’s credit card account and is processed through taps on Android phones.
Android Pay is said to be very similar to Apple Pay for both come with fingerprint security system.
Google said that Android Pay can be used for transaction in seevral retailers such as Subway, Whole Foods and McDonalds. However, the method is only supported on devices that have near field communication (NFC) tech. For a start, Google will make the payment available on certain Android phones only.
Other tech giant working on its own payment method is Samsung with its Samsung Pay. Samsung Pay reads users’ credit card account using magnetic tech and is scheduled to be available in a number of countries starting the coming summer.
