TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama applauded the new line up of closed-circuit television (CCTV) installed in areas around the capital. The CCTV is a part of Ahok’s plan in turning Jakarta into a smart city.
Ahok claimed that CCTV displayed good quality images. "The magnification can even display vehicle license plate [clearly]," Ahok said.
Meanwhile, at night the CCTV will be assisted with night vision technology and lights installed on its surroundings.
Ahok claimed that the CCTV image can be retrieved from a smartphone and that he can control the CCTV through his phone. In total, Jakarta will install a total of 2,000 units of CCTV in 2015.
