Only 54% of National Gas Production Allocated for Domestic Demand

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Djoko Siswanto, Director of the Development of the Upstream Sector of Oil and Gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said that the allocation of gas for domestic demands is still only 54 percent of the total national gas production.
He also said that the figure is still far from the target set by the government, who wants to make gas supply for domestic demands into 61 percent this year.
"It’s still May 2015," Djoko said on Friday.
Previously, Chairman of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKKMigas) Amien Sunaryadi through a written statement on Saturday the SKKMigas has signed the amendment to five agreements on gas trade.
In addition to adding state revenue by around US$2.266 billion or Rp29.5 trillion when the contract is still in effect, the amendment is also still in line n with the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 03 of 2010 on the Allocation and Use of Natural Gas to Meet Domestic Demands prioritized for fertilizer, electricity, and industry.
Based on the data from the Mineral Resources and Energy Ministry, national gas lifting in January 2015 reached 6,684.71 MMBTUD, while in February 2015, it rose into 7,720.82 MMBTUD.
In the meantime, data for March-April is not complete yet.
