Sofyan Djalil: April Inflation is Under Control

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Soyfan Djalil, said that April 2015's inflation remains under control. He said that the most important thing for the government to do now is maintain the annual inflation rate at around 4.0 percent.

"The government must ensure that inflation rates during the Eid and school holidays do no increase dramatically," he said in his office, yesterday.

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that throughout April 2015 there was an inflation of 0.36 percent. This figure is higher than in April 2014, where the agency noted a 0.02 percent deflation.

On a year-on-year basis, the BPS reported an inflation rate of 6.79 percent.
