TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bandung Mayor Ridwan “Emil” Kamil has called on local tourists to cancel their trips to Bandung next week since a number of roads will be blocked during the 60th Asia-Africa Conference (AAC) commemorative summit on Friday, April 24, 2015.
“Local tourists, particularly from Jakarta, are encouraged to cancel their trip to Bandung. It’s only for one day,” Emil told Tempo at Bandung City Hall on Sunday, April 19, 2015.
Emil suggested tourists to visit the city a day after the 60th AAC Commemorative Summit as the city will hold the Asia-Africa Conference on Saturday, April 25, 2015.
To this date, 69 countries, including Argentina, the United States, and Italy, have confirmed their attendance at the conference. Malaysia, Philippine Myanmar and Jordan will participate to showcase their culture.
Representatives from several regions, such as Pekalongan and Yogyakarta, will also attend the conference.
