ASEAN Countries to Harmonize Tax Regulations

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Some finance officials and central banks in ASEAN countries plan to harmonize their tax regulations. Later, ASEAN’s regional identity taxes will be aligned to facilitate the supervision of cross-country tax.
Our concern in the development of ASEAN Forum On Taxation-AFT is a follow-up on bilateral cooperation and partnership taxation of tax information, a joint statement said in the meeting with finance ministers and ASEAN central banks in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, March 30, 2014.
Other than the cooperation of tax information, the AFT also had talks on the new potential tax sectors. The strengthening of cooperation in the field of economic monetary among ASEAN countries has also become the focus of discussion amid global challenges.
Last year, ASEAN’s economy grew by 4.4%.
