TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Transportation Ministry announced would-be investors would be able to apply for airline business license online beginning April this year.
Transportation Ministry’s head of air transportation business development and advisory Muzdalifah Muslimin said on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, that the preparations for the online application would be completed by the end of March.
Muzdalifah added that the Transportation Ministry had also launched an online flight approval system. “Everything must be online by the end of March this year,” she said.
Earlier, Transportation Minister Ignasius Jonan said the online flight approval system was included in the Indonesian Flight management System (IAMS), which had been claimed as an endeavor to modernize the national flight services.
In the IAMS, other approvals related to flights, such as route approval, air transportation business licensing, air transportation activity licensing, general sales agents and flight slots, must be applied online.
According to Jonan, the Transportation Ministry will also issue a new regulation to modernize passenger services by removing ticket counters at airports. Therefore, Jonan called on airlines to invest in ticket vending machines.
