Premium Price in Java, Bali, Madura Rises to Rp6,900 Per Liter

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Starting March 1, 2015, the government announced new price of subsidized Premium fuel and other subsidized fuel will increase.
Ali Mundakir, spokesperson of state-owned gas and oil operator PT Pertamina said that the price of Premium outside Java, Madura, and Bali increased by Rp100 into Rp6,800 per liter. In the meantime, the price of Premium in Java, Madura and Bali increased by Rp200 into Rp6,900 per liter.
Previously, on Saturday, February 28, 2015, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced a Rp200 rupiah increase of RON 88 fuel, which is from Rp6,600 into Rp6,800.
Energy Ministry Spokesperson Saleh Abdurrahman said that the price rise was aimed at keeping the stability of the economy and the management of prices and logistics.
"The price of global oil is still fluctuating and the instability of rice related to different opinions of market players to respond to the Libyan conflict, and the production of shale at the US is also still high,” Saleh said.
