TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Liverpool claim a place at FA Cup quarter final after beating Crystal palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park earlier yesterday. Haunted by the curse of Selhurst Park -- where Liverpool had taken several defeats-- Liverpool struggled at the beginning.
Sixteen minutes after the kick off, the Reds were under the upper hand as Palace led through Fraizer Campbell’s goal. An equaliser was scored by Daniel Sturridge on the 50 minute. Adam Lallana sealed victory for the Reds with a goal on the 58 minute assisted by Mario Balotelli who entered the pitch at the second half.
Without senior player Steven Gerard, Liverpool show dominance by taking ball possession of 63 percent. They produced 22 shots toward opponent’s net, seven of which were threats.
