TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Sergio Aguero made a surprising comeback from an injury with a brace against Stoke City. The Argentine national made an impressive performance when Manchester City defeated Stoke 4-1 earlier today.
Having Aguero back was certainly a boost for City, which have played differently in his absence. Without Aguero, City had been stumbling to keep up with Chelsea, resulting in the massive seven-point gap.
However, the comeback also turned out to be a disaster for the player, who sustained another injury in the match. Aguero left the pitch in the second half, possibly hurting his back.
Aguero's return has instilled new hopes in the Citizens to catch up with the Blues and defend the title. Even better, Aguero, the league's top scorer prior to his injury, is gaining on current top scorer Diego Costa with only one goal away.
