OJK: No Insurance for Death Row Convicts

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) director for non-bank financial industry Firdaus Djaelani said death row inmates do not get life insurances. When an individual is involved in a criminal case, all of his/her insurance deals are canceled.
According to the OJK, the money used by the death row convicts to buy insurance will be returned.
"At best, the insurance company will refund the paid premiums, but the deal is off because the death is due to criminal penalty, so any insurance agreement becomes void," Firdaus said. (*)
