TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head Weather Early Warning Division of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Kukuh Ribudiyanto said that Jakarta was facing a bad weather.
Kukuh said that heavy rain with strong wind was expected to hit Jakarta in the next three days.
"Heavy rain is expected in most parts of the city,” said Kukuh.
Based on the monitoring of weather satellite images on Saturday at 6:30pm, heavy rain with thunder was forecast to hit North Jakarta.
Therefore, BMKG has issued an early warning, urging the people not to take shelters under trees and to avoid billboards on the street.
Areas that will see heavy rain include Penjaringan, Angke, Pademangan, Pejagalan, Pluit, Tanjung Priok, Koja, and Semper. In West Jakarta, Tambora and Jelambar will also experience heavy rains.
Kukuh further said that heavy rain with strong with and thunder would hit Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang and Bekasi. Furthermore, Kuku said that certain areas in West Jakarta and South Jakarta are likely to experience heavier rain. Several parts of Depok and Bogor will also see heavier rains.
