TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Central Information Commission (KIP) named the Finance Ministry as the best ministry in terms of public transparency. The Finance Ministry was the only institution among others with a perfect score.
“The assessment was based on how well public institutions handle information,” said KIP chief Abdulhamid Dipopramono.
The assessment had been conducted since October 27 to December 4, 2014, by a team comprising directors, experts, expert assistants and administration staff.
The KIP earlier sent 414 questionnaires to 414 public institutions, including ministries, governmental institutions, provincial administrations, state-owned enterprises, political parties, and public universities. Out of the total number, 166 institutions returned the questionnaires.
The KIP also named other nine institutions as the top 10 most transparent institutions, namely the Industry Ministry, the Transportation Ministry, the State Secretariat Ministry, the Public Works and People’s Housing Ministry, the Communications and Information Ministry, the Religious Affairs Ministry, and the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform.
Finance Ministry’s head of communication and information services bureau Yudi Pramadi said that he is proud of the achievement.
“The appreciation would boost the morale and commitment of the ministry’s information management officials to provide better public information services,” said Yudi
