TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Four-time Formula 1 champion, Sebastian Vettel is set to leave Red Bull after this season ends. He will be replaced by Toro Rosso racer, Daniil Kvyat.
Vettel’s move was announced by Red Bull on Friday, October 3.
“Sebastian Vettel has advised us that he will be leaving Red Bull at the end of the 2014 season," Red Bull said in a statement as reported by Reuters.
"We want to warmly thank Sebastian for the incredible role he has played at Red Bull for the last six years."
Vettel has performed his best with Red Bull by dominating the race last season. However, he is struggling with the implementation of new regulation in the sport and had never won a single race this season.
He is in the fifth place in the championship classification and his team mate Daniel Ricciardo sits on the third place after Mercedes duo, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
