TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama is slated to pay a return visit to South Korea on Thursday night, October 2, 2014.
Ahok will visit South Korea to receive the host flag of the 18th Asian Games in Incheon from the Games organizer. “It’s mandatory that I go there for the flag admission,” Ahok told reporters at the City Hall on September 30, 2014.
Ahok visited South Korea last month for three days from September 18-20 to observe the Saemangeum seawall located southwest of the Korean peninsula. He also learned about the management of street vendors in Gangnam district.
Besides receiving the Asian Games host flag, Ahok is also scheduled to visit a hospital in South Korea to study the hospital’s management, which has been under the government’s supervision since 1967.
The Jakarta administration plans on constructing a similar hospital in the capital on a land plot belonging to Sumber Waras Hospital in Grogol, West Jakarta. The city administration will earmark Rp1.5 trillion to acquire the 6.9-hectare land, which is located behind the hospital.
“We want to see their technology,” Ahok said.
