TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The head of Jakarta Small-Medium Enterprise and Trade Agency, Joko Sunaryo said that vendors in National Monument (Monas) area will be using electronic money as transaction means, starting the upcoming October.
According to Joko, the non-cash system is applied to re-arrange the locations and to prevent unauthorized price increasing practice done by the vendors. The system will be applied using voucher with certain nomination and cards issued by banks.
“There will be no more cash circulating in Monas,” said Joko.
“We will assist the vendors three months after October.”
The electronic money concept will also applied to the Monas visitors. Starting next year, the visitors will pay the entrance fee by tapping the electronic money card on the exit door.
