TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - MK’s Ruling Boosts Investors’ Confidence

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Constitutional Court ruling that rejected all lawsuits filed by Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa presidential candidate pair had boosted business owners’ confidence since Indonesia managed to go through smooth election process.

“Business owners are more confident in making their investments in Indonesia,” Sofjan Wanandi, chairman of the Indonesian Business Owner Association, told Tempo on Friday, August 22, 2014.

However, Sofjan said that the government must also provide a better business climate for investors, in addition to facilitating business owners to invest their money. The new government can start it by providing legal certainties for business owners.

The Constitutional Court on Thursday unanimously ruled out the lawsuits filed by Prabowo-Hatta, since it considered that court facts and evidences provided by the pair were partly irrelevant with the lawsuit.
