TEMPO.CO, Madrid - Croatian midfielder Luka Modric has officially signed a new four-year contract in Real Madrid. The new deal binds Modric in Bernabeu until June 2018, in which the player expects more trophies with the club.
Modric has always been Madrid’s first selection upon arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012. Modric also helped deliver various trophies to Madrid, with the most prestigious being Champions League 2014.
Prior to the contract extension, Modric’s deal in Madrid is to end in June 2015. However, both the club and President Florentino Perez thought that Modric had been an indispensable part of the team, thus wanting to risk nothing at losing the player.
