TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has appealed to the public to accept the Constitutional Court (MK) ruling on the presidential election result dispute case, which will be announced on Thursday, August 21, 2014. President Yudhoyono has also called on the military and police to be on alert to maintain order when the ruling is made public.
"I believe all instructions have been followed," said presidential spokesperson Julian Aldrin Pasha on Wednesday, August 20, 2014.
President Yudhoyono hoped the public could play a role in keeping order during and after the ruling was announced. The president also asked the people to refrain from committing anarchic and counterproductive actions that could spoil the present, conducive situation.

Vice President Boediono will also be absent in the country on the day the ruling is announced as he has to leave for the United States to accompany his wife for a minor surgery at Pittsburgh Hospital.
Vice President Boediono left on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 to accompany Mrs. Herawati Boediono as the latter has been scheduled to undergo an operation to correct a slipped disc. "He is scheduled to arrive in Jakarta on Sunday evening," said the vice presidential spokesperson Yopie Hidayat.
