TEMPO.CO, California - Instant messaging application Facebook Messenger is now available on iPad. Features like stickers, easy group chat navigation, and VoIP calling are all available except for the split-screen selfie camera and video recording.
Unfortunately, Android tablet users should wait longer to have the messenger available on their devices.
"Facebook has not mentioned anything about an Android tablet version," TechCrunch wrote, Friday about the possibility of Android tablet version of the messenger.
Getting more devices supported for Messenger is important to Facebook's long-term goal of disrupting SMS and owning the mobile chat space. The direct, private messaging has become a constant part of many people’s days.
For now, Facebook uses the messenger to embrace more device users instead of making money directly from it. More devices mean more people locked in. However, Facebook has plenty of opportunities to monetize its dedicated chat app, as it has recently hired PayPal president David Marcus to become VP of its messaging products.
