Government to Monitor Traffic Around Halim Airport

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After being delayed, Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport has finally been officially opened today for commercial flights. Chief Executive Officer of Citilink Indonesia Arif Wibowo, confirmed that the company is ready to commence its first flight from the airport.
"We have prepared everything, such as the check in system, ticketing, baggage handling, and X-ray," Arif said yesterday.
Transportation Minister Evert Ernst Mangindaan, said that the government will continue to monitor the airport transition. Evaluation will be conducted monthly to review traffic congestion near the airport.
"Citilink will start in January, Garuda in February, and AirAsia in March. We need to consider the traffic, such as in Cawang," the Minister stated.
