TEMPO.CO, Mexico – Scientists have recorded a footage showing an Oarfish, a giant sea creature from the Gulf of Mexico. The creature normally lives 3,000 feet under the sea and rarely found on the surface.
Mark C. Benfield, an Oceanography Professor at Louisiana State University, was one of the scientists that capture the rare sigthing on camera. As quoted by Nydailynews, Mark said that the video showed an Oarfish floating vertically with its head facing the ocean surface.
The footage was the first to feature a living 8-foot long Oarfish. Benfield's report in the Journal of Fish Biology explained that the fish showed no reaction of fear, but disappeared after 10 minutes.
