TEMPO.CO, Jakarta– National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) has shifted its stance and now currently in favor of Jokowi, Jakarta Governor in the case of Pluit resident relocation. Komnas HAM finally agreed that residents living in reservoir site must be relocated until reservoir normalization program is finished.

She believed that Komnas HAM could not justify the action of occupying state land. "Occupying state land is prohibited," said Siti Noor Laila, the Head of Komnas HAM, after meeting Jokowi on Friday, May 17.

Laila said that Komnas HAM serves as a mediator between residents and the government to clarify any rising concerns or disputes.
