TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released a weather forecast for Greater Jakarta or Jabodetabek for today, January 4. Rain is expected to pour across the entire part of the capital city this afternoon.
The agency issued an early warning that the rain is expected to persist from noon until the afternoon. “Be alert for the possibility of rain with lightning and strong winds that could occur in parts of South Jakarta, West Jakarta, and East Jakarta in the afternoon and evening,” as quoted from the forecast published on its official website, on Thursday, January 4.
The wet weather is only predicted to linger until the evening as Jakarta's weather is predicted to be cloudy.
The agency also warned of possible moderate to heavy rain in Bogor and Depok between noon and evening. Meanwhile, Bekasi is predicted to experience light rain throughout the day. Similarly, Tangerang City may have light rain this afternoon, although evening conditions will be heavily overcast.
BMKG further issued an early weather warning of possible rain in most areas of southern Tangerang Regency and South Tangerang City. “Be alert for the possibility of moderate to heavy rain with lightning and strong winds.”
