TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plans to question former West Java governorDeddy Mizwar in relations to the alleged bribery case of the Meikarta housing project permit.
“[Today], we set a schedule to question former West Java governor Deddy Mizwar for the Meikarta case,” said KPK Spokesman Febri Diansyah at the agency’s headquarters on Tuesday.
He explained that the questioning would be similar to previous questionings of West Java and Bekasi state officials that could provide valid information on the bribery case, especially the housing project’s issuance of a recommendation permit.
The agency has named non-active Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin, Sahat, together with three Bekasi administration officials as suspects. KPK believes that the five suspects had received commitment fees up to Rp13 billion that acted as ‘smoothing money’.
So far, based on numerous backdated documents, KPK investigators revealed that the Meikarta project had already commenced even before its legal permits were approved and issued.
