Century Graft: Budi Mulya to Apply as Justice Collaborator

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Budi Mulya plans to apply for a justice collaborator (JC) status to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Budi is a defendant being tried for his alleged involvement in the infamous Century Graft, with charges of corruption practices during the provision of short-term loan (FPJP) and the determination of Bank Century as a default systemic bank.
The Coordinator of Masyarakat Antikorupsi Indonesia (Indonesian Anticorruption Society), Boyamin Saiman, said in a witten statement on Wednesday, December 5 that the letter requesting for justice collaborator status will be submitted by Budi's daughter, Nadia Mulya.
"The complete justice collaborator material will be revealed at the KPK, Bonyamin said.
The KPK has started a new investigation in the Century graft after questioning 21 witnesses from Bank Indonesia (BI), government officials, as well as civilians.
The witnesses include Budi Mulya, BI's former Senior Deputy Governor Miranda S. Goeltom, and current OJK chief Wimboh Santoso.
In the Century case, the Supreme Court / Mahkamah Agung (MA) charged Budi Mulya to 15-year imprisonment. The judges ruled that Budi was proven to have practiced corruption during the FPJP disbursement and the determination of Bank Century as a default systemic bank
In the appeal verdict, the judge stated that Budi Mulya had committed corruption with several BI officials including former BI Governor Boediono and former BI Senior Deputy Miranda S Goeltom.
