TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Legislative Council DPRD Chairman Prasetio Edi Marsudi said the idea of building the skybridge in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, had existed since the era of Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahja Purnama alias Ahok.

But at that time, Prasetio did not approve the proposal. “Finally, it (skybridge) was established and executed by Pak Anies Baswedan,” said Prasetio Edi Marsudi in the DPRD building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, November 14.

Prasetio said that when this Rp35 billion project was approved by the Jakarta DPRD, the construction of the bridge was not implemented properly.

According to Prasetio, currently, the condition of Tanah Abang is still chaotic. He also believed that street vendors (PKL) would keep occupying the sidewalk, even though the skybridge has been completed.

“Won’t there be street vendors below it? There will be. New problem, add the problem,” said Prasetio.

Until today, the Tanah Abang skybridge project has not yet been completed. So far, the construction has been delayed three times.

The President Director of Pembangunan Sarana Jaya Yoory C. Pinontoan said the skybridge construction would be completed in a maximum of 15 days.

Yoory admitted that after being delayed from the target completed in late October, his party planned the construction to be completed last week and could be used on a limited basis. However, the plan missed.

“Our target was to make it be able to be used in a limited way, but we see the conditions in the field. The decision must be completed first, then it can be used,” he said about the completion of the skybridge project.
