TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police were still further questioning Ratna Sarumpaet since testimonies delivered by several witnesses and the 69-year-old woman were different. Additional examination planned to be held on Monday was halted to Tuesday, Oct. 23.

“For example, [questions] related to the first surgery, the second, and where the funding comes,” said Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono in his office, Monday, Oct. 22.

Argo explained the investigator needed times to explore information and the filing report of hoax news that Ratna Sarumpaet ensnared. Thus, the detention period of the artist and social activist who recently active in politics was extended to 40 days ahead.

The police attempted to explore information about the cosmetic surgery that Ratna Sarumpaet had undergone in Bina Estetika Hospital, Menteng, Central Jakarta in last September. The hoax news then spread to several figures including Gerindra patron chief, presidential candidate, Prabowo Subianto.

Police had earlier quizzed the hospital, the Indonesian Labor Union Confederation Indonesia (KSPI) president Said Iqbal, the National Mandate Party (PAN) Amien Rais, the National Campaign Agency Prabowo-Sandiaga head Nanik S. Deyang, and spokesperson Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak.

A recent report suggested Ratna Sarumpaet first revealed the truth of being a liar to her assistants.
