TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Speaker Prasetio Edi Marsudi expressed dissatisfaction towards the work of the city governor Anies Baswedan during his one year of office. Prasetio considered Anies initiated unnecessary programs thus far.

“Generally, we are not satisfied,” said Prasetio in his residence, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, Oct 16.

The construction project of Tanah Abang Skybridge, for example. According to the PDIP politician, the skybridge was not esthetically worthy for Jakarta. He then suggested Anies to review the revitalization program of Tanah Abang.

Furthermore, the plan to revise regional decree on becak (pedicab) operation. Prasetio deemed legalization of becak operation in the capital city was a step back because the job as becak driver was inhuman.

“So, many of his breakthrough programs are useless,” Prasetio said, adding that Anies was probably still adapting the work on leading Jakarta. Thus, Anies should communicate with the council member regarding the bureaucracy in the city administration considering they had served Jakarta since 2014.

Contrary to Prasetio’s comment, DPRD deputy speaker Mohamad Taufik appreciated Anies Baswedan’s strategy to fulfill his campaign promise, such as building zero down payment housing project, realizing One Kecamatan One Center for Entrepreneurship (OK-OCE), and concerning the citizen in light of the reclamation issue.

“Many [of Anies’s program] must be appreciated,” said Taufik, head of Gerindra Jakarta.

Tuesday, October 16, 2018, marked the first year office of Anies Baswedan as Jakarta Governor. He along with Sandiaga Uno won the regional head election in 2017.
